About Chateau Rahoul 2007 Red Graves

A member of the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux, Château Rahoul boasts an exceptionally diverse range of terroirs. The history of Château Rahoul began in 1646, when Chevalier Guillaume Rahoul was responsible for the construction of this pretty chartreuse, and gave it its name. The management of the Rahoul estate was entrusted to Dourthe in 2007. 2007 was an over looked vintage but many of the wines are now reaching a delightful peak just like this one. A blend of 80% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petit Verdot aged 12 months in 10% new French oak barrels this wine shows a silky maturity with a bouquet evocative of fresh red fruits, particularly Morello cherries. Round, soft and elegant on the palate, with a hint of toasted oaky well integrated and it displays a long, lingering finish. Hard to find pre-aged Bordeaux at this kind of value, don't miss it!
